Jack Ross has dismissed reports that he is about to take Greg Docherty on loan to Sunderland.
After Sevco’s 0-0 draw with Shkupi the former Hamilton midfielder was advised to go out on loan by Steven Gerrard with Ross becoming the second boss in a week to reject Docherty.
It was a dream come true for the 21-year-old when Douglas Park soothed his move to Ibrox but after three derby defeats from Celtic it has quickly developed into a nightmare.
Gerrard has already sent Eduardo Herrera, Jason Holt and Joe Dodoo out on loan with Docherty now looking to find a club for the new season knowing that he is surplus to requirements for this summer’s Revolution.
It won’t however be at Sunderland as Jack told the Daily Record: “I seem to get linked with every single player up in Scotland. Some of the reports are true – but a lot aren’t.
“I have just got used to it. At first it ?bothered me however, Scotland is always a market I will look at because there are some good players up here.
“We have recruited a couple from the Scottish leagues already.
“Dylan (McGeouch) is already showing how good a player he is for us so it is a market we will continue to explore but Greg is not a player we are interested in.
“That is not to say he is not a good player but we have other priorities.”
Andy Halliday appears to be part of Gerrard’s Revolution after making a late appearance as a substitute against Shkupi.
Sevco are expected to complete the loan signing of Liverpool starlet Ryan Kent in the next 48 hours.
