Craig Levein is expecting a rerun of the Jamie Walker saga as Sevco attempt to entice Kyle Lafferty from Hearts.

On Friday afternoon STV broke the news that a bid of £200,000 had been made for the £1m rated striker.

In February the Ibrox side were happy to tell the world that they had turned down an £11m bid for Alfredo Morelos.

The bid for Lafferty was made in instalments with an upfront payment of £500,000 needed to bring Hearts to the negotiating table.

A year ago a similar scenario was played out over Walker who finally moved to Wigan in January for £300,000 with no sign of Sevco matching or bettering that offer.

Responding to the speculation Levein told The Sun: “The good thing is we only have another month of this nonsense.

I’ve no idea if there will be another offer. We had the same dealings with Rangers over Jamie Walker and it was a bit ‘meh’.

I kind of expect the same thing again. It will only last until the end of August.”

It seems that three goals against Celtic last season has transformed Lafferty from a Norwich City flop into the man to stop the hoops making it 8-in-a-row.
