Tony Watt will discover this morning whether he has been called into the Scotland squad to face Belgium (September 7) and Albania.

The former Celtic striker has been in blistering form since signing for St Johnstone- scoring his sixth goal of the season in the 1-0 win over Dundee.

In March 2016 Watt picked up one Scotland cap under Gordon Strachan while he was on loan at Blackburn Rovers.

Leigh Griffiths and Ollie McBurnie are expected to be named in Alex McLeish’s squad with very few other striking options.

Fun loving Jason Cummings has scored a couple of goals for Peterboro leaving McLeish to decide whether he rates goals in the SPFL Premiership as lesser than those scored in English League One.

A call up to face Belgium would be ironic for the 24-year-old who played for Lierse, Standard Liege and OH Leuven following his transfer from Celtic in 2014.
