Harold Moukoudi has arrived in the UK- for signing talks with Aston Villa.
The Le Havre defender was linked with Celtic on Sunday with Brendan Rodgers acknowledging an awareness of the 20-year-old in an interview with Radio Scotland before the 1-0 win over Hamilton Accies.
Despite being in the final year of his deal with the French Second Division side Moukoudi is valued at £5m and attracted interest from West Ham and Burnley earlier in the transfer window.
According to Sky Sports the defender arrived at Villa’s Bodymoor Heath this morning for a medical and signing talks.
Although the English transfer window has closed clubs can register loan signings with an agreement in place with Le Havre to make the move permanent in January.
Having signed Moussa Dembele, Olivier Ntcham and Odsonne Edouard Celtic had hoped to have an edge over other clubs interested in Moukoudi but it seems that he is on his way to joining John McGinn at Villa.
