Brendan Rodgers sees Youssouf Mulumbu as a replacement for Stuart Armstrong- an aggressive strong running number eight.
Yesterday the out of contract midfielder emerged as a surprise transfer target and was pictured arriving at Celtic Park in late afternoon.
With over 200 appearances for West Brom there is no doubting the pedigree of the 31-year-old who made a massive impact last season at Kilmarnock.

“What I’ve been after over the course of the summer was a number eight, a strong running aggressive midfield player,’ Rodgers explained to the Daily Mail.
“Youssouf showed in his time up here last season with Steve Clarke at Kilmarnock that he was outstanding.
“He came up with good legs and good energy and he’s got great experience.”
After a long period of frustration during the transfer market it seems that there will be a trickle of business at Celtic today.
