Mikael Lustig and Tom Rogic make their first starting appearances of the season today when Celtic take on Livingston in the SPFL opener.

Both players starred at the World Cup Finals but return to favour ahead of Wednesday’s crucial Champions League clash with AEK Arhens.

Jonny Hayes makes his first starting appearance of 2018 after breaking his leg while Jozo Simunovic is back in the centre of defence after missing both matches against Rosenborg through suspension.

After today’s match Celtic face a gruelling schedule of AEK Athens home and away either side of a trip to Tynecastle within seven days.

The matches against the Greek side are clearly the priority for Brendan Rodgers with the hoops certain to be without the injured Moussa Dembele.

Rodgers will be boosted in defence by the return f Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata as Celtic attempt to reach the group phase of the Champions League for the third season running.
