Robbie Deas is joining Cowdenbeath on loan.

The young defender captained the Celtic Development side last season and will now discover a very different side of the game playing in League Two.

Cowdenbeath have been involved in the SPFL play-off in each of the last two seasons and are sitting in seventh place after three games of the new season.

Deas is at his best playing in the centre of defence but can also play at left-back and is expected to be on the bench tomorrow when Cowdenbeath travel north to take on Elgin City. Next Saturday Cowden travel to Hampden to take on Queens Park.

Garry Bollan took over as manager of Cowdenbeath in November last year and knows his way around the lower tiers of the game after spells in charge of Forfar, Airdrie United and Livingston.

Deas will still be available to play for Celtic in the Reserve League with Tommy McIntyre’s side facing Hamilton Accies on Monday at New Douglas Park, kick off 2pm.
