Sevco fans are readying themselves for the most ridiculous boycott so far- of House of Fraser.

For a decade at least the power of the blue pound has excited the gullible across social media, during that time they may have noticed that Irish themed pubs- clearly not aimed at attracting the blue pound- have been springing up on almost every street in Glasgow city centre.

At the end of last week House of Fraser was rescued from administration by Mike Ashley, a former Sevco shareholder, who refused to see the firm go into liquidation and a famous name lost to the high street.

Ashley is an old hand when it comes to Ibrox boycotts, since 2012 his Sports Direct group have been in charge or retail and merchandising at the tribute act.

In 2014 the Sons of Struth started to howl at the moon over a boycott of merchandise, current chairman Dave King secretly backed that policy and has been getting hammered in the pocket since taking control of the club.

With Sons of Struth taking a back seat long time Ibrox fans leader Mark Dingwall has resumed his role as fans spokesman.

The top man at the Follow Follow message-board has become the media go-to guy and duly responded with the threat of the blue pound being withheld to the new jewel in Ashley’s empire.

Big Mike probably had a good belly laugh when he heard about that development, fortunately there are no House of Fraser stores in Kilwinning, Bearsden or Larkhall to suffer the backlash from the gullible.
