Eight hundred St Mirren fans stole the headlines at Ibrox with a brilliant banner.

Three sides of Ibrox produced a tifo display claiming that Glasgow was their city but tucked in a corner between the Broomloan Road and Govan Stand’s the visitors from Paisley got their message across.

Back in 2012 St Mirren were tipped to be one of the clubs to follow Rangers into liquidation but despite some struggles the Paisley side managed to keep upto date with their bills including the face painter.

A League Cup win in 2013 was enjoyed to the full and although the club was later relegated they bounced back to the top flight in style last season with Jack Ross leading the club to promotion.

That achievement earned Jack a move to Sunderland with Alan Stubbs taking over at Paisley.

Although they lost 2-0 at Ibrox today St Mirren face a steady future while at Ibrox chairman Dave King will this week face a Contempt of Court charge with no news yet on when supporters can purchase Hummel kit from Sports Direct outlets.
