Josh Windass is in talks with Wigan Athletic about a £1.8m transfer.

The former Accrington starlet was Sevco’s top scorer last season but five games into the new season he is being sacrificed to fund the Gerrard Revolution.

Windass played the full 90 minutes against Aberdeen on Sunday but has been left out of tonight’s Europa League tie against Maribor to discuss a move to Wigan.

Ipswich Town were the first club to declare an interest in the 24-year-old but dropped out once the bidding reached £1.5m.

Windass dropped out of favour under Pedro Caixinha last season but was restored to the side by Graeme Murty and responded with 18 goals including 13 in the SPFL.

That form earned him a new contract in February but six months later it looks like his Sevco days are over.

Ibrox Director of Football Mark Allen is in talks with various clubs interested in signing Declan John, Jak Alnwick and Wes Foderingham.
