Callum McGregor has reinforced the big concern of most Celtic supporters- attitude.

Throughout 2018 there has been a nagging feeling that the players turn it on when they want to. Results against Sevco prove that.

Throw down the gauntlet of the over-hyped tribute act and you can be assured of a performance from the Celtic side.

Put them up against a dogged and determined St Mirren, Kilmarnock or St Johnstone and the chances are that the team will struggle.

Within ten minutes of kick-off many supporters can sense if it’s going to be ‘one of those games.

Form and tactics are the routine matters for a manager to deal with, sorting out attitudes and mindsets is something completely different.

Looking towards a fifth match against Rosenborg in 14 months McGregor told the Daily Mail: “I think the fact that we’ve eliminated them twice in the last two seasons gives us an advantage psychologically.

When you’ve played well and beaten opponents before then it gives you the belief that you can get more results against them.

We know that we can beat Rosenborg, so it’s up to us to turn up with the right attitude on the night.”

Celtic supporters turn up on the nights, during the summer they also show up to buy season tickets and replica kits in their thousands.

McGregor is one of the last players whose attitude would be questioned but more and more supporters are going to matches hoping that the players will be in the right mood.
