Marvin Compper has no regrets about his January move to Celtic and hopes to end his career in Glasgow!

The defender moved in a £1m deal from RB Leipzig but has only made one appearance- against Morton in the Scottish Cup- but has been left out of Brendan Rodgers’ Europa League squad.

With Jack Hendry and Filip Benkovic signing after the Compper transfer plus the emergence of Kris Ajer it’s hard to see Compper finding a way into the Celtic team.

Despite his lack of game time he told The Sun: “I’m doing really well. It’s a different world, but I knew that.

Other people, a new culture, and I’ve had many injuries over the past six months but now I’m healthy and fit. It was the right move to move to Glasgow.

I do not look back and I firmly believe that I will have some more beautiful moments. Actually, my idea is to end my career at Celtic

There were contacts to Gladbach and to Stuttgart. But in the end, the interest there was not strong enough.”

Compper picked up an injury during Celtic’s winter break in January and never made an appearance until the Morton match at the start of March.

After going on the pre-season trip to Austria he played in the second half of the friendly against Standard Liege but hasn’t been seen since.

Compper is believed to be on a contract that runs until May 2020.
