Steven Gerrard has claimed that fourth official John Beaton shouted ‘foul, foul, foul’ at the mythical incident leading up to Celtic’s winning goal in the Glasgow derby.

After watching his team outplayed and outclassed for 90 minutes the rookie Sevco boss was desperate to find an excuse for his side’s defeat.

Ryan Jack tumbled to the ground midway inside the Celtic half with the hoops quickly moving the ball up the park finishing with Odsonne Edouard slamming the ball into the net.

Speaking afterwards to Sky Sports Gerrard said: “It’s definitely a foul. I’ve been in the game a very, very long time and that’s a foul in my book.

It’s actually a foul in the fourth official’s book as well because he’s shouting down the mic, ‘foul, foul foul!’

The referee’s ignored the information, we can both see clearly that it’s a foul and they go and score the goal.”

Fourth officials aren’t employed to give their thoughts on decisions on the park, Collum who had a complete nightmare of a match, was much closer to the so-called incident than Beaton.

During the first half Collum, his assistant and fourth official Beaton all missed Allan McGregor kicking out at grounded Celtic defender Kris Ajer.

Scott Brown and Odsonne Edouard were booked for their first fouls of the game while Kyle Lafferty and Alfredo Morelos were allowed off with numerous offences.

Going into the international break Sevco are sitting in seventh place, closer to rock bottom Dundee that league leaders Hearts.
