There was a clap of thunder in the air as Tom Rogic guided his shot into the Aberdeen net to seal the 2017 treble, an unbeaten, invincible run.
It was typical Celtic, a dramatic cup final win stirring memories of 1985 and 1988 when last gasp goals had been greeted with delight from the fans at what will always be known as the Celtic End.
No-one could have guessed that it would be 16 months before that sort of drama would be repeated, not in a Hampden final but in any match.
The last time Celtic scored a winning goal beyond the 80th minutes was the 2016/17 Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen.

The long wait looked set to continue even after Leigh Griffiths entered the fray with plenty to prove to his doubters.
If the ball is put into the penalty box often enough the former Hibs striker will get on the end of a decent proportion and has a more than respectable conversion rate.
Scott Brown’s last high ball into the penalty box may have been collected by Moussa Dembele at Ibrox but this time it was the head of Dedryck Boyata.
The defender nodded into the right area, anticipating Griffiths’ movement with the ball nodded into the back of the Rosenborg net.
It’s unlikely that the Celtic fans will have to wait another 16 months for a late winner!
