Pawel Gil will referee Thursday’s Europa League tie between Celtic and Rosenborg.
The Polish referee has never previously taken charge of a Celtic match but was the man in the middle for Sevco’s 1-0 win away to Osijek last month.
Gil (42) has yet to referee a Champions League group stage match but has been handling Europa League games since 2013.
In terms of international matches he was in charge of three World Cup qualifiers with the most high profile one being Spain’s 2-1 away to Macedonia.
Thursday’s match will be the fifth clash between Celtic and Rosenborg in the last 14 months with the hoops winning twice and drawing the other two matches.
The Norwegian champions arrive in Glasgow on the back of eight straight victories including a 3-2 win away to Valerenga on Sunday night.
When Rosenborg visited Glasgow in July they were in turmoil after sacking Kare Ingebrigtsen but after a rocky start it seems that Rini Coolen has stamped his authority on the side.
