Mark Hill has joined Forfar on loan until January.

The midfielder went on loan to St Mirren in January but never got a look in as Ross Jack steered the Paisley side to promotion.

Hill has been in the Celtic Academy since 2012 but has yet to feature in the first team.

Forfar are currently third from bottom of League One but only two points away from East Fife in the the third play off position.

Earlier today it was announced that Regan Hendry had joined Raith Rovers on loan until January which suggests that the hoops have virtually given up on the Reserve League for developing young players.

The new look Reserve League provides just 17 fixtures which is of little use to players looking to break into Brendan Rodgers first team plans.

During the August transfer window Jack Aitchison went on loan to Dumbarton with Robbie Deas joining Cowdenbeath on a similar deal.
