Ewan Henderson produced a stunning goal as Celtic beat Aberdeen 2-0 in the Reserve League Cup.

Daniel Arzani’s first half free kick caught plenty of attention but there was lots to admire in the way that substitute Henderson put the game beyond the Dons.

When Tomas Cerny was forced into a clearance the ball broke kindly to Ewan but it’s not often from those positions that the error is full punished.

It was all about technique as Henderson controlled the ball then drove in an unstoppable shot outwith the reach of the retreating keeper.

The midfielder turned 18 in March and was rewarded with his first team debut in May with a ten minute run out against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park.

Henderson has been training with the first team since the start of the season with Brendan Rodgers resisting a number of offers to send him out on loan.

Celtic’s reserve side are back at Cappielow next Tuesday for an ‘away’ match against Morton on league business.
