It was meant to be a carnival day for Scottish football but as usual some elements were unable to control themselves.
Inside Murrayfield we witnessed Hearts supporting punching each other, outside there were random acts of violence with the victims usually the innocent.
Guradian reporter Ewan Murray has never hidden his love for all things Gorgie but to his credit he refused to turn a blind eye to one incident yesterday.
To the so called Hearts fan that thought it was a good idea to throw a full bottle of bud at a bus of Celtic fans today outside Sainsbury’s car park.. I’m now sitting in A&E with my 70 year old mum as that bottle hit her on the side of the face.. 1/2

Shameful irony of this is Carol is about the most dedicated Hearts supporter you could ever meet. Every game, every possible help to the club. These morons need to be found and dealt with. https://t.co/C1L8zGTwAj

Visits to Tynecastle have never been pleasant with an element of the Hearts support more interested in attacking others than the failings of their own team.
Famously in 2011 Neil Lennon was attacked on the touchline at Tynecastle with his assailant, John Wilson granted hero status among large elements of the Hearts support.
With back-to-back matches coming up against Celtic it will be no surprise if further unsavoury incidents involving Hearts fans are reported on social media.
