England have named Karamoko Dembele in their u-16 squad for the Val de MarneĀ  tournament in France next month.

Earlier this week the highly rated 15-year-old scored on his Reserve team debut for Celtic in a 6-0 win over Partick Thistle.

While Celtic carefully nurture Dembele through the ranks of their academy Scotland appear to be fighting a losing battle to claim the player as an internationalist.

Dembele has been quiet open about playing for both countries which helps him gain as much international experience, mostly while giving away a year or two against his opponents.

Under Gareth Southgate and making use of the St George’s Training Centre England appear to be setting a new standard in international football- claiming a number of titles. The Val de Marne will also feature France, Austria and Japan

Dembele spent his early days in London before his family moved to Glasgow where his ability was spotted and developed by Celtic.

In February when he turns 16 he will be eligible to play for Celtic in the Reserve League.
