As Glasgow landmarks go Celtic Park is one of the most famous.
Towering up around it’s surroundings in the east end of the city the stadium is easy to identify from a number of locations.
The road between East Kilbride and Cathkin certainly offers an impressive view but one flyer managed to capture it’s true stature within the east end.
I’m in Birmingham today for meetings but check out this in-flight view of Celtic Park and the East End of Glasgow (namely Carntyne, Parkhead, Shettleston and possibly Greenfield ????) that I caught with my phone just after take-off. #ClearSkies ?????? pic.twitter.com/HxGGxlolf5

The area around the stadium is much changed, over the last 20 years much of the housing and industry on the doorstep has been wiped out.
Across London Road the Emirates Arena has brought cyclists and tennis fans to the east end but on a fortnightly basis Celtic Park draws in 60,000 supporters.
Saturday’s match against Hearts is already a sell-out, the third home match in succession in which Brendan Rodgers’ side have played in front of a capacity crowd.
