John Hartson has repeated his belief that Brendan Rodgers will be at Celtic to win 10-in-a-row.

Barely a day goes by without the Irishman being linked with jobs elsewhere with Leicester City, Newcastle and Spartak Moscow all linked over the last couple of days.

The wishful thinking has extended to who will replace Rodgers at Celtic with Neil Lennon the choice of pundits Chris Sutton and Charlie Nicholas.

Celtic fans have grown used to ‘reports’ of interest in Rodgers from elsewhere but Hartson is convinced that the former Swansea boss will be staying around in Glasgow.

He told the Evening Times:

I don’t care of Newcastle are looking at him and thinking that he might be the man if they part company with Rafa Benitez or if Leicester are thinking that he might be a better option than Claude Puel.

In terms of money both of these clubs could blow Celtic entirely out of the water both in terms of what they can offer on a personal level and on a transfer budget.

But that isn’t what it is about for Rodgers.

I know because he has told me personally than he is happy with his life and happy at his work in Glasgow. As I have said in this column already, if I end up with egg on my face then so be it and I am sure I won’t be able to open my phone without being reminded of it on a daily basis.

Although it is regularly claimed that Rodgers could be earning much more money elsewhere his Celtic package when including Champions League qualification is comparable to most deals for managers in the EPL.

Since moving to Celtic in 2016 more than half of the teams in the EPL have sacked their manager, some like Everton are onto their third manager in that time span.
