Madden bounces back

Bobby Madden is back in the big time taking charge of Saturday’s match between Motherwell and St Johnstone.

The East Kilbride based whistler was in charge of the Falkirk v Dunfermline match before the international break but will be able to collect the top match fee this weekend when makes the short trip to Fir Park.

Madden’s last top flight appointment was in the Celtic v Aberdeen match when he allowed a waist high lunge from Scott McKenna on Odsonne Edouard to go unpunished.

The Celtic striker was unable to continue in the match with the Dons defender given a two match suspension from the SFA.

Aberdeen took that decision to appeal but after losing out chairman Stewart Milne called for a summit of the SPFL and SFA to explain recent decisions.

While Madden returns to the top flight this weekend McKenna will miss his side’s trip to Tynecastle where Kevin Clancy will be in charge.
