Celtic could be without FIVE first picks for tomorrow’s Europa League clash with RB Leipzig.
Scott Brown, Leigh Griffiths and Tom Rogic are out through injury, James Forrest is suspended with Filip Benkovic an injury concern ahead of tomorrow’s 5.55pm kick off (Celtic Park Time).
Even with a full strength squad Celtic would have their work cut out against the German side, with half a team missing Brendan Rodgers’ side are certainly up against the odds.
“Scott Brown will be out for the next 2-3 weeks with a calf strain,” the Celtic boss confirmed to The Sun.
“Leigh Griffiths hasn’t returned to training yet and Tom Rogic hasn’t travelled. He has an issue with his knee and we’ll look at that when we’re back.
“We’ll see how Filip Benkovic is over the next 24 hours.
“We have a number of young players and other players that may have the opportunity to play and I’m looking forward to that.”
Rodgers has a few options to replace Brown with Callum McGregor the only real alternative to Rogic in the attacking midfield role.
With Griffiths still injured the last thing that Celtic need is an injury to Odsonne Edouard with three matches in a week, two of them against Hearts, coming up on their return from Germany.
While Celtic face RB Leipzig the other arm of the Red Bull empire, Salzburg, host Rosenborg looking to maintain their 100% record in the group.
