Brendan Rodgers has killed off a thousand rumours and conspiracy theories by revealing that Youssouf Mulumba will resume first team training tomorrow.

The former Kilmarnock midfielder hasn’t been involved since Celtic lost 3-1 away to RB Salzburg with Eboue Kouassi emerging from the shadows.

Mulumbu’s Rugby Park connection has sparked rumours about the midfielder was Kris Boyd’s Celtic mole but it is quite clear that Boyd picks up and spreads third hand rumours as FACTS! Rather than having any insight into anything.

Youssouf will train with the squad on Thursday,” The Sun reports Rodgers as saying. “Jozo (Simunovic) will probably be back after the international break as he’s sprained an ankle.”

Mulumbu did put in an impressive shift in Austria and looked capable of adding some steel and authority to the Celtic midfield.

Simunovic only played against Salzburg due to injuries to Kris Ajer and Filip Benkovic who both returned to action against Hearts on Sunday.

Rodgers reported 10 players receiving treatment for injuries yesterday but most of them appear to be short term.
