The SPFL are holding back from announcing the match officials for Sunday’s Betfred Cup semi-finals.

With five days to go until the matches there is no word on the SFA website about which referees will be in charge of the Celtic v Hearts and Sevco v Aberdeen matches.

The referees for next week’s SPFL Premiership matches have been announced which gives a pointer to who will be in charge of the semi-finals with referees highly unlikely to referee the same club in successive matches.

Alan Muir will referee Celtic’s visit to Dundee on October 31 with Andrew Dallas taking charge of the Edinburgh derby on the same night which should rule both men out of taking charge at Murrayfield.

Greg Aitken and Nick Walsh will referee Sevco and Aberdeen’s midweek fixtures which leaves the big names or usual suspects free for the weekend.

Craig Thomson takes control of the Dundee v Hearts match tonight at Dens Park which leaves Willie Collum, Bobby Madden, Kevin Clancy and Steven McLean in line for duty at Murrayfield.
