Sutton unimpressed by faltering Celtic attack

Tellingly it was three Celtic defenders that made it into Chris Sutton’s Team of the Week.

Craig Gordon, Dedryck Boyata and Kieran Tierney made it into Sutton’S XI following Celtic’s 1-0 win over Aberdeen.

The win got Celtic back on track after dropping points at St Mirren and Kilmarnock but in front of goal the hoops are still failing to deliver with just seven goals from seven Premiership matches.

A piece of magic from Scott Sinclair delivered the points against Aberdeen but the 4-4-2 system deployed on Saturday failed to create- and execute- in the penalty box.

RB Salzburg will deliver a very different test to Brendan Rodgers’ side on Thursday when the hoops travel to Austria on Europa League duty.

With both teams getting off to winning starts in the competition a win for either side will put them in a strong position to qualify.

Gordon, Boyata and Tierney will be vitally important to Celtic with Rodgers’ waiting to check on the fitness of Odsonne Edouard and Filip Benkovic before deciding on his starting XI.
