Dermot Desmond has made a rare appearance commenting on Celtic’s Double Treble success.

The multi-millionaire Irish businessman is the biggest individual shareholder in Celtic but prefers his involvement in the club to remain at arms length.

The bigger the occasion the bigger the celebration, going back over the years such as Seville, the treble under Martin then the unbelievable occasion of the double treble.

We deserve to celebrate like that for as much as we can because it’s unlikely to come again in our lifetime.

When it comes to appointing managers he does show an interest and is credited with the move for Brendan Rodgers after things went wrong under Ronny Deila.

Sevco’s Scottish Cup shoot out success over Celtic in April 2016 is regarded as the catalyst for change with the antics of John WATP Gilligan and others at Hampden striking a nerve.

Just over two years later Celtic were back at Hampden celebrating their sixth successive domestic trophy which included three semi-final victories over the tribute act.

With Desmond suggesting that a Double Treble won’t happen again in his lifetime there is a little extra incentive for the hoops to beat Hearts on Sunday as they chase a treble treble.
