Mikey Johnston is expected to be in the Celtic side for today’s Reserve Cup tie against Aberdeen at Cappielow, kick off 2pm.

The winger has started four first team matches this season and will get another start this afternoon for Tommy McIntyre’s side.

Celtic beat Aberdeen 2-0 a fortnight ago in the Reserve League but there is little form to draw on with teams likely to make wholesale changes from match to match.

Since losing 3-1 to Morton last Tuesday there has been some big changes in Celtic’s Reserve set up with the most notable being the departure of Shaun Maloney to take up a full time job with Belgium.

That was announced on Friday- the same day that Mark ill, Regan Hendry and PJ Crossan all moved out on loan.

Players on loan are still eligible to play in Reserve team fixtures but Celtic have been reluctant to use players in midweek that are involved in first team football elsewhere.
