Armstrong Oko-Flex had to settle for a place on the bench as England’s u-17 side beat Brazil 3-1 at Telford last night.

The Celtic striker had played in the 3-0 win over Russia on Sunday as Steve Cooper’s squad won the four team mini-tournament that also included the USA.

Celtic moved to sign Oko-Flex in the summer from Arsenal as he approached his 16th birthday.

Last season he made nine appearances for the Arsenal u-18 side as well as progressing through the ranks with England.

Oko-Flex has a number of international options after being born in Dublin to Nigerian parents he moved to London as a 11-year-old to join Arsenal’s Academy set up.

After signing a three year Celtic contract he has already made two appearances for Tommy McIntyre’s reserve side.

Yesterday a Celtic XI made up of reserve team players beat St Mirren 3-0 at Lennoxtown in a closed doors friendly, Mark Hill, Ciaran Diver and Jack Aitchison scoring the goals.
