Sevco are facing a fresh battle with Sports Direct after they started selling this season’s kit in breach of a legal agreement.

In July Mike Ashley’s firm were granted an injunction to prevent the tribute act from setting up a fresh retail and merchandise agreement with an un-named third party.

Sports Direct produced the new contract agreed with the Dave King regime that entitled them to match any future contract after they received £3m for terminating the original deal set up by Charles Green.

At that hearing it was agreed that a new agreement would be set up with Sevco paying Sports Direct’s legal costs of around £500,000.

Last month without any announcement or official launch Sevco started selling their home and away kits with Sports Direct back in court yesterday highlighting another breach of contract.

The fresh court action was reported by the Press Association and used by various publications including the Evening Times.
