Chris Sutton has hit out at the louts who claim that Neil Lennon brings it on himself.

Last night at Tynecastle the Hibs boss was struck in the face by a coin thrown by a Hearts supporter.

Gary Caldwell, broadcasting on Radio Scotland, was one of the first to excuse the incident using a well worn excuse.

Lennon, like other managers and players, is an emotional type and often gets involved with some comments or gestures to supporters.

What he takes back in banter and verbals far exceeds anything he has done.

Last night there was no apology or statement issued by Hearts giving a lead to a day of Lennon bashing on radio phone ins.

Sutton played alongside Lennon at Celtic for five years and knows the real reasons that a wealthy, ginger haired Irish Catholic is the subject for such anger and hatred in Scotland.
