Barry Ferguson has called on the new club at Ibrox to hand back the Broomloan Road Stand to Celtic supporters.

The issue was brought up at the Celtic AGM with Peter Lawwell admitting that there are safety concerns over taking just 800 tickets for the December 29 clash.

Celtic are looking at taking fans in and out of Ibrox on a convoy of buses leaving from Celtic Park but the location of the seats inside Ibrox is the problem.

If you were to ask any Rangers player that’s played in those games that’s what it is all about- knowing that stand is full of Celtic fans.

You’ve got three quarters of the stadium and for me it just created a great atmosphere.

Home supporters are in very close proximity of the visiting section with St Mirren supporters reporting that a bottle was thrown into their section during an early season visit.

Unless the club founded by Charles Green in 2012 are prepared to write-off 20 seats on either side of the Celtic support there is the potential for real trouble.

The section set aside for visitors is easily within reach for missiles thrown from the top tier of the Sandy Jardine and Broomloan Road stands.
