Joe Ledley left Celtic four years ago but the club will never leave the midfielder.

The Welshman was the first major signing made by Neil Lennon, joining the hoops in the summer of 2010 for a development fee after his Cardiff contract expired.

Settling into Glasgow proved to be no problem with Ledley enjoying the local culture of folk like Kevin Bridges.

After 150 appearances Crystal Palace came calling but not before Ledley created some memories that will be forever remembered.

Chief among those was the festive goal in 2011 that saw Celtic overtake Rangers (IL) and head into the new year as league leaders.

At the start of November Celtic had trailed 15 points behind Ally McCoist’s relentless title winning machine who had distanced themselves from rumours over financial problems associated with Craig Whyte.

These days Ledley is at Derby County but whatever colours he is wearing for many people he’ll be remembered as the Celtic player that started the bid for 10 one windy evening in the east end.
