It took Celtic just 13.88 seconds to regain their lead against RB Leipzig!

Jean-Kevin Augustin’s header was a hammer blow for Brendan Rodgers’ side to deal with but the hoops bounced back quicker than anyone could have anticipated.

In years to come when coaches emphasise to players that they are at their most vulnerable after scoring this will be the example that they quote! 13.88 seconds.

Straight from the restart the ball was played out left, Scott Sinclair advanced, Ryan Christie matched his run and as Odsonne Edouard raced into the penalty box the pass from Christie was perfectly placed with French Eddie doing the needful.

Celtic Park erupted but quickly realised that there was 11 minutes plus stoppage time to be survived.

It was a team effort from that point onwards as Celtic hung on, Sinclair and James Forrest were withdrawn as Rodgers showed his pragmatic side to secure the points.

A defeat would have ended Celtic’s interest in the competition, after a dramatic night the hoops hopes of European football after Christmas are very much alive and well.
