Chris Sutton reveled in an exceptional night at Celtic Park.

From the gantry the BT Sport pundit lapped up the atmosphere generated around a highly competitive match that both teams felt they could win.

Sutton had questioned whether Celtic had put their European ambitions to one side to concentrate on a treble treble but there was no denying the intent of Brendan Rodgers’ side.

There were outstanding performances throughout the team with Ryan Christie catching the eye in his first big European appearance.

The former Inverness Caley Thistle kid provided plenty of energy from the middle of the park and contributed the all important assist for Odsonne Edouard to score the winning goal.

With six points from four matches Celtic and RB Leipzig are neck and neck although the German side are ahead on the head-to-head should both teams finish level on points.

Celtic’s next match is away to Rosenborg before they complete the group at home to RB Salzburg next month.
