Kris Boyd believes that Olivier Ntcham’s new contract with Celtic is proof of unrest at the club!

The Kilmarnock substitute has been going on all season about problems at Celtic with a split dressing room a favoured theme.

Recent form and Ntcham’s new contract would suggest that Boyd is well wide of the mark but rather than conceded that he got it wrong he has taken his argument to ridiculous lengths.

Asked about the split dressing room Boyd told Sky Sports: “I was one of the critical ones, you know there was a few grumblings.

I think that a lot of people because Olivier Ntcham has signed a new deal now, that everything is rosy.

He had two and a half years left, why did they feel as if they needed to give him a new deal?

He obviously wasn’t happy with what he was being paid and what he was valued at before, that might have been one of the reasons.

Em I think whatever it was (the split) it’s in the past, you can see, em, yes maybe a wee bit disappointing today but over the last few weeks Celtic have been excellent and that’s them back to the top of the league now.”

Ntcham joined Celtic in July 2017 in a £4.5m transfer from Manchester City, signing a four year contract.

On Friday he signed another contract keeping him at Celtic until 2022.

James Tavernier and Alfredo Morelos have both signed two contracts this year with Sevco.
