Hearts crash again opening the door for Celtic to go top

Celtic can go top of the SPFL Premiership tomorrow by beating Livingston.

League leaders Hearts crashed to a 1-0 defeat at home to Kilmarnock leaving the door open for the hoops to go top for the first time this season.

For the fourth match running Hearts failed to score with the wheels well and truly off Craig Levein’s bandwagon.

Two defeats from Celtic in a seven day stint either side of a home draw with Hibs has killed Hearts’ early season momentum stone dead.

Levein’s side are still top of the table but sitting a point behind with two games in hand Celtic are ready to go top as they move into top gear chasing an eighth successive title.

The win puts Kilmarnock a point behind Celtic in third with St Johnstone, 4-0 winners at home to Hamilton, a point further behind with Sevco and Aberdeen locked in joint fifth.

There are no domestic fixtures next weekend but on November 24 there is a full card with Celtic away to Hamilton for an early kick off while Hearts are away to St Mirren.
