For the third time in 13 SPFL Premiership matches Don Robertson will referee a Celtic match.

Robertson, best remembered for the outrageous penalty awarded against Erik Sviatchenko at Ross County in April 2017, will be in charge of the Hamilton v Celtic match on Saturday having already refereed the corresponding game between the two clubs earlier this season. He also refereed Celtic’s 4-2 win over Hibs.

Steven McLean will be the fouth official.

Two weeks after the new Rangers club from Ibrox claimed that there were underlying issues with Willie Collum it appears that Scotland’s so-called leading referee is being sidelined.

Saturday’s St Johnstone v Kilmarnock match will probably be watched by the lowest crowd in the division, acting as fourth official will be Kevin Clancy who missed Dolly Menga’s head-butt on Ryan Christie at the recent Livingston v Celtic match.

Later this week the SFA are expected to announce the name of the referee for the Celtic v Aberdeen Betfred Cup Final.
