Kerr McInroy has been called into the first team squad to face Hearts today.

With Scott Brown, Olivier Ntcham and Eboue Kouassi all out injured Brendan Rodgers is short of options in central midfield.

At 18 years of age McInroy is captaining the Celtic reserve side and was included in the first team squad for pre-season training in Germany. Last season he was an unused substitute in the 0-0 draw with St Johnstone played between the two legs of the Europa League matches with Zenit St Petersburg.

The young Fifer is an outstanding talent, forcing his way into the u-17 double winning team of season 2015/16 which won the Glasgow Cup with a convincing 4-0 win over Sevco at Ibrox with Jack Aitchison and Mikey Johnston in the side.

McInroy’s power and energy has allowed him to play above his age group throughout his development while developing an eye for the spectacular long range goal.

Rodgers will stick closely to the side that beat Dundee 5-0 in midweek but with Daniel Arzani out through injury a door may just be opening up for McInroy.
