‘Proper defender’ Ajer posts picture after surgery

Kris Ajer believes that he looks like a proper defender after having surgery on his fractured eye socket.

The defender suffered the horror injury during Celtic’s 0-0 draw with Livingston on Sunday and was immediately replaced by Filip Benkovic.

At first it looked like a broken cheekbone but a fractured eye socket is a much more sever injury.

No date has been set for his return to action but it’s unlikely that he’ll play again this year.

2018 has certainly been the breakthrough year in his career, winning a place in the Celtic defence just before the turn of the year and signing a new long term contract in May.

After injuring a hamstring at the end of September the young Norwegian made a powerful return to action in Celtic’s 3-0 Betfred Cup semi-final win over Hearts at Murrayfield.
