After 11 days out of the spotlight Brendan Rodgers had mixed news to report on Celtic’s lengthy injury list.
Scott Brown, Leigh Griffiths and Nir Bitton have resumed full training with Olivier Ntcham also back after almost a month out with a hamstring strain.
At one stage Celtic had 10 players undergoing treatment and while the season is over for Daniel Arzani and Eboue Kouassi there was more encouraging news on three others.
The Evening Times reports Rodgers saying:
“Jozo Simunovic is still with the medical team and young Mikey Johnston is still injured as is Marvin Compper. Apart from that it’s looking healthier…”
With Kris Ajer a medium term absentee the return of Simunovic provides extra cover in central defence although the same can’t be said of Compper.
‘Blame me’ the Celtic boss said when the German defender was mentioned in a question at the club AGM.
Since signing for Celtic on January 1 Compper has featured in just one match, a Scottish Cup tie in March against Morton.
This season he hasn’t featured in any first team or reserve match.
