Brendan Rodgers will ignore all thoughts of a Red Bull carve up when he sends his side out against Rosenborg.

In normal circumstances there would be little prospect of a win for RB Leipzig away to RB Salzburg with the two sides having contrasting fortunes in their four Europa League ties.

The Austrian version have a 100% win rate including a win in Germany while their cousins in Leipzig have a 50% success rate, arriving in Austria on the back of a defeat from Celtic.

Despite that form Leipzig are strong favourites with the bookies to win the match which would leave Celtic needing two wins, including a heavy win over Salzburg to go through to the last 32 of the Europa League.

I think you can’t afford to worry about what’s going on in the other game,” Rodgers told The Sun.

You’ve got too much to focus on your own game, and our purpose is very clear going into this match.

We want to win and we have to take care of that side of it. We want to do that.

We want to win this game, and go back to our very last group game with a fighting chance to qualify. I’ll sleep fine. I don’t worry about what team someone else is going to put out. I can’t control that.”

Rodgers’ biggest decisions come in midfield where he has Olivier Ntcham and Scott Brown available to add to the side that beat RB Leipzig.

In attack Leigh Griffiths is available again but Odsonne Edouard will be selected to start the match.
