Chris Sutton has reminded Robbie Savage that Ally McCoist knocked back his offer to play for Sevco in Division Three.

The squeaky voiced BT Sport pundit is never slow to criticise Celtic and is a fully paid up subscriber to Scottish football needing a strong ‘Rangers’ and the Old Firm myth.

As a player the only winners medal was when Leicester beat Tranmere Rovers to win the 2000 League Cup, a couple of months later manager Martin O’Neill quit to join Celtic.

Savage became better known for his squeaky voice, play-acting, bad temper and media output than he did for his playing career which went on to reach the heights of Birmingham, Blackburn and Derby.

While McCoist knocked back Savage’s offer he did hand contracts to Kevin Kyle, Dean Shiels, Emilson Cribari, Sebastian Faure and David Templeton.

Sevco won the 2012/13 Division Three title but made early exits in the Scottish Cup, League Cup and SFL Challenge Cup.
