Chris Sutton has sent a message to the thousands of football fans dejected by the SPFL’s decision to sign a new five year contract handing exclusive live rights to Sky Sports.
For the last four years Sutton has been a huge part of BT Sports coverage of the Scottish game but that will come to a halt at the end of the 2019/20 season.
The Punch and Judy style routine that the former Celtic striker perfected with Stephen Craigan was a must watch feature of BT’s coverage.
Just to say thanks for all the nice messages regarding the BT Sport coverage… suffice to say we are disappointed to miss out on the next rights package… we will carry on giving our very best to the Scottish game for the next 18 months??Thanks again????

In contrast to the BT coverage Sky played it much safer with Kris Boyd and Kris Sutton sharing their views with Hayley McQueen.
Boyd’s obsession with Celtic’s ‘problems’ and split dressing rooms made him a figure of fun as he chased a one man agenda against the seven in a row champions.
No further details have emerged about Sky’s plans but with a five year monopoly there is no need for them to invest or to showcase the Scottish game in a similar manner to the promotion of the EPL.
