There are many highly unlikely potential Celtic signings- few less likely that John Guidetti.
The non-scoring striker may be an icon in his own mind but other than an autumn scoring burst on loan at Celtic under Ronny Deila there hasn’t been much to get excited about relating to the Swede on the park.
After his Celtic stint he was a free agent, bizarrely Celta Vigo provided him with a five year contract but after two seasons and 11 goals he was on his way to Alaves.
Three goals in 17 appearances last season was par for the course but without a single goal this season he is back ‘in demand’.
Galatasaray are apparently interested but according to a Turkish website Guidetti only wants to play for Celtic.
Brendan Rodgers will be looking to sign a striker in January, it’s highly doubtful if Guidetti’s scoring record qualifies him as a striker.
With his ‘look at me’ attitude he is even less likely to be returning to Celtic, in his mind he is every bit as good if not better than Odsonne Edouard and Moussa Dembele.
Injury robbed Gudetti of the promise that he showed as a teenager at Feyenoord. Those scoring days have never returned, nor will a place in the Celtic side.
