Scotland are through to the final qualification round of the u-19 European Championships, with five Celtic players in the side that drew 2-2 with Sweden.

That point was enough to edge Billy Stark’s squad ahead of Wales into first place in their qualification group.

Scotland look the lead through a Billy Gilmore penalty in the 20th minute but the Swedes hit back with two goals in three minutes from Aiham Ousou and Pavie Vagic leaving Stark’s side with 17 minutes to find an equaliser.

Elliot Watt of Wolves netted in the 83rd minute with Scotland seeing the game through without any set-backs.

There was a strong Celtic influence at the back with Ryan Mullen in goals behind Robbie Deas and Daniel Church, Kerr McInroy was in the centre of midfield with Jack Aitchison in attack.

After playing in the opening match, a 2-1 win over Wales, Glenn Middleton was withdrawn from the squad by the new club from Ibrox, founded in 2012 by Charles Green.
