Armstrong Oko-Flex scored twice as Celtic beat Falkirk 2-1 in a Reserve Cup tie at the Falkirk Stadium.

The former Arsenal forward put in an impressive all round performance demonstrating his strength and skill against opponents a few years older.

Tommy McIntyre’s side made an impressive start to the match with the combination of Daniel Church and Oko-Flex particularly effective down the left.

The former Arsenal forward served notice of what he was capable of with a great mazy run in the 17th minute but his low shot was smothered by Robbie Mutch in the Falkirk goal at his near post.

Celtic were dominating the match but out of the blue Falkirk were awarded a penalty when Wallace Duffy needlessly felled Cieran Dunne as he was heading away from goal.

Dennon Lewis sent Ryan Mullen the wrong way in the 33rd minute but almost instantly the hoops were level when a great passing move open up the Falkirk defence, Ewan Henderson’s shot was parried with Oko-Flex netting the rebound from 10 yards out

Celtic should have been ahead before the interval but four minutes into the second half they edged in front with a brilliant touch from Oko-Flex.

He met a cross from the right with his heel, flicked the ball high across the goal and into the net at the far post before the Falkirk defence knew what was happening!

Having dominated the game up until that point Celtic seemed to sit back with Falkirk pushing forward to test and stretch the hoops defence.
