Celtic will face Inverness Caley Thistle or Hamilton Accies away from home in the last 16 of the SFA Youth Cup.

In keeping with the chaotic nature of under age football the competition has been switched from an u-20 event to u-18s.

On Friday night Celtic beat Spartans 5-0 in the third round but the next round will be a much harder proposal.

Accies won the u-17 title last season and are currently involved in the u-19 UEFA Youth League where they trail Danish champions Midtjylland 2-0 from the first leg. In the previous round Accies beat Basle on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

Celtic went out of last season’s tournament at the semi-final stage away to Hibs.

Elsewhere the bulk of Celtic’s reserve side is away on international duty with Scotland up against Wales, San Marino and Sweden in the u-19 European Championship qualifiers.

Ryan Mullen, Robbie Deas, Stephen Welsh, Daniel Church, Kerr McInroy and Jack Aitchison are all involved with most of them having been involved at u-19 level last season.
