SEVCO want to rewrite the rule book after having their appeal against a yellow card issued to Danny Candeias rejected.

On Wednesday morning the Daily Record broke the news that the SFA were hearing an appeal, this morning the same newspaper reveals that the appeal has been rejected meaning that the winger will be suspended for Sunday’s match against Motherwell.

Rangers are set to take the SFA to task after their appeal against a red card for Daniel Candeias was dismissed.

The Ibrox club are ready to push for a change in the rules that would allow for a challenge to an ordering off after two yellow cards.

Rangers are fuming after the winger was sent off in injury time in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over St Mirren.

It’s believed ref Willie Collum flashed a second yellow for an altercation with Buddies defender Anton Ferdinand but TV pictures appeared to show Candeias was innocent.

But it’s understood the ref may have pointed to Candeias’ gestures towards Ferdinand seconds after Alfredo Morelos scored the second as justification.

That point of view has staggered Rangers as TV evidence suggests Collum’s back was turned to Candeias at the time.

The main issue here isn’t the outcome of the appeal but the SFA’s decision to host an appeal in the first place.

An appeal can be made against a straight red card or against a yellow if there is a case of mistaken identity with the appealing club obliged to identify who the real culprit was.

Neither circumstance applied to Candeias.

Earlier this season Sevco successfully appealed against a red card issued to Alfredo Morelos for kicking out at Scott McKenna of Aberdeen with the SFA downgrading to a booking.

Scotland goalkeeper Allan McGregor has avoided two notice of complaints despite clearly being seen on television to kick out at opponents in matches against Motherwell and Celtic.
