The SFA are on a collision course with referees over their refusal to back Willie Collum.

On November 8 Sevco issued a statement covering a number of areas of paranoia that claimed that there were ‘underlying issues’ with the Lanarkshire based referee.

Eight days later no official comment has been made about the statement or disrepute charge made against the tribute act.

Sevco’s anger relates to the yellow card that Danny Candeias picked up against St Mirren which resulted in an ordering off and suspension for the following match against Motherwell.

The only appeal procedure for a yellow card is for simulation or mistaken identity but the SFA allowed an appeal to be had for Candeias.

After that was rejected Sevco went public with their statement about underlying issues.

With the SFA refusing to back Collum Sevco have stepped up their attack with The Sun reporting:.

A Gers spokesman last night said: “I can confirm we’ve delivered a formal letter of complaint to the SFA regarding the referee’s performance in that match.”

Last week Collum pulled out of the Aberdeen v Hibs match due to a groin injury but tomorrow he will be in charge of the Ayr United v Morton fixture.

Craig Thomson refereed the Sevco v Motherwell match, awarding one penalty to the home side and sending off Carl McHugh of the visitors.
